【Intended Application】

This kit utilizes the principle of Gold Immunochromatography Assay (GICA) and is designed for the detection of the Fluoroquinolones (QNs) in cosmetics such as creams, emulsions, aqueous solutions, and facial masks.

Quinolone antibiotics, also known as pyridone carboxylic acids or pyridone ketonic acids, constitute a class of synthetic antibacterial drugs known for their broad spectrum of antibacterial activity, potent bactericidal effects, rapid action, wide distribution in the body, and lack of cross-resistance with other antibiotics. Quinolones have different target sites of action compared to other antibacterial drugs, making them effective against bacteria resistant to other antibiotics. They are clinically used primarily for skin and soft tissue infections, respiratory tract infections, genitourinary tract infections, and more.

The adverse effects of quinolone antibiotics include nausea, vomiting, headache, dizziness, sleep disturbances, interference with cartilage development, potential for inducing seizures, liver damage with high doses or prolonged use, and a certain impact on kidney function, which may lead to crystalluria, hematuria, and tubular urine. In severe cases, it can result in acute renal failure.

This test kit has a sensitivity of 2 ppb for detecting QNs, with enrofloxacin used as a reference standard.

l This kit can effectively detect the following quinolone antibiotics:

Enrofloxacin, Ofloxacin, Levofloxacin, Norfloxacin, Ciprofloxacin, Danofloxacin, Pefloxacin, Enoxacin, Flumequine, Oxolinic acid.

Note: Due to the wide variety of synthetically produced quinolone antibiotics, this kit has been tested only against commonly available drugs and ointments in the market. It is possible that it may also detect other types not listed above.
