Specification20T/Kit

Storage Conditions

² The kit shall be stored at 2 to 30℃ in dry environment.

² Expiry date: 12 months. The date of manufacture is presented in the label of the box.

Intended Application

This kit utilizes the principle of Gold Immunochromatography Assay (GICA) and is designed for the detection of the antibiotic drug, Chloramphenicol (CAP), in cosmetics such as creams, emulsions, aqueous solutions, and facial masks.

Principle

Chloramphenicol is a broad-spectrum antibacterial agent that enters bacterial cells through lipid-soluble dispersion. It inhibits peptide chain formation in ribosomes, thereby preventing protein synthesis. At high concentrations or in bacteria highly sensitive to chloramphenicol, it exhibits bactericidal activity. Prolonged use of cosmetics containing antibiotics like chloramphenicol can lead to adverse reactions such as contact dermatitis, characterized by erythema, edema, ulceration, desquamation, exudation, itching, and burning sensations. Chloramphenicol can also cause leukopenia, bone marrow suppression, and liver damage. In the long term, antibiotic use can contribute to enhanced bacterial resistance, leading to decreased efficacy and delayed treatment, resulting in significant societal issues.
