T2 toxin (T2) is a mycotoxin produced by various species of Fusarium. It primarily contaminates cereals such as wheat, barley, maize, and their products, posing significant risks to human health and the livestock industry. T2 toxin mainly affects the functions of the blood, liver, kidneys, pancreas, muscles, and lymphocytes. Common clinical symptoms after T2 toxin exposure include anorexia, vomiting, diarrhea, growth retardation, reproductive and neurological disorders. The use of T2 toxin assay kits allows for rapid and accurate analysis of T2 toxin residues in samples.
This kit adopts the method of indirect competitive enzyme-linked immunoassay (ELISA) to detect T2 Toxin (T2) in the grains, legumes, peanuts and feed. The kit is composed of Microtiter Plate coated with coupled antigens, T2-HRP enzyme conjugates, antibodies, standards and other supporting reagents. During the detection, with adding standards or samples, the T2 in the samples will compete with the coupled antigens to combine with anti-T2 antibodies. After adding enzyme conjugates, take coloration with TMB substrates. Absorbance value of the samples is a negative correlation with T2 content. Lastly, comparing with the standard curve, the obtained concentration is multiplied by the sample dilution ratio. T2 residues in sample can be concluded.
